Have you ever stopped to think about how amazing your body is?
No matter what your body looks like or how you feel about it, your body is a wondrous instrument. It’s carried you through this world for decades. It’s been there with your all your best memories. It’s what allows you to get up every morning and talk to the people you love.
This really hit me when I started having children. I realized how awe-inspiring it is that my body is capable of creating my favorite people in the world, but I also finally grasped how creating someone automatically creates unconditional love. At one point, I told a friend:
“It’s horrifying to know that if my kid ends up a serial killer or drug dealer, I won’t approve—but I’ll still love him just as much.”
If that’s how I feel about my kids, imagine how God feels about us.
Just like parents make their children, God has made all of us. Just like parents love their children, God loves all of us. And we’ll never understand the depths of his unconditional love for us—regardless of our problems, our mistakes, and our doubts.
